Minutes of Meeting held on 7th October, 2025

Cllr. Charmaine Smith chaired the Ordinary Meeting with Cllrs.P Chapman, S.Smith, N Osborne. A Vogel, J Shepherd, K Anderton, County Cllr. Nicky Chopak, Mrs D Turner (Clerk) and nine members of the Public.

1. Public Question Time

   A member of the Public spoke to voice his disappointment on his Planning refusal.

2. Declarations

   Cllr. Chapman declared an Interest in Item 10 on the Agenda.

3. Minutes

   The minutes had been Emailed to all Councillors and were agreed and signed.

4. Balance at Bank

   The balance is £19,559.60 in the Current A/C and £5014.26 in the Solar A/c

5. Higher Meadow, Jacobstow

   A presentation was given on a Community Garden Retreat at Eden Meadows. This is to create an eco retreat and training centre that fosters health and wellbeing, through nature-based activities and community environmental stewardship. Workshops will include Yoga, meditation, music, crafts and cookery.

6. Code of Conduct Training

   Clerk to send the link to the Code of Conduct Training for Councillors to do.

7. Accounts to pay

   Cornwall Council - Election costs £288.00
   Proposed we pay Cllr. P Chapman Seconded Cllr. N Osborne

8. Planning Application PA25/05678

   Land East of Drumeagles – Cornwall Council refused this Application

9. Planning Application No PA25/05620

   Construction of dwelling and garage in lieu of PA25/02085 – demolition of agricultural building with wider landscaping enhancements – Land and buildings at Trehausa, Jacobstow, Bude – Councillors support this Application Proposed Cllr. Vogel Seconded Cllr. J Shepherd.

10. Planning Application PA25/04729

    Construction of a new detached single storey dwelling - Chy Lowen, Jacobstow, Bude Councillors support this Application. Proposed Cllr. Vogel Seconded Cllr. K Anderton.

11. Penhallym

    Email received advising that a quote for the installation of a new bridge amounts to £38,390.

12. Enhanced LMP Grant

    A note to be put in the Journal asking for tenders to do any work necessary to apply for a grant.

13. Road Closure

    Notification received regarding a road closure from Little Dinnecombe to School Lane 20th– 22nd October, 2025 (7.30am – 6.00pm)

14. Missing Postbox

    A letter to be written to the Post Office en quiring when this postbox will be re-installed.

15. Benches at Goldfinch Close

    Cllr. Smith had met someone from the Housing Assoc. and they will advise where they would like the benches installed.
