Minutes of Ordinary Meeting held on 2nd September, 2025
- Cllr. Charmaine Smith chaired the meeting with Cllrs. P Chapman, A Vogel, S.Smith, J Shepherd, N. Osborne, K. Anderton County Cllr. Nicky Chopak, Mrs D Turner (Clerk) and three members of the public attending.

Declarations
Cllrs. N Osborne and S Smith declared an interest in Item 9 on the Agenda.

Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting had been Emailed to all Councillors and were agreed and signed.

Balance at Bank
The balance at the Bank was reported as £16,731.44 in the Current a/c and £5,014.26 in the Solar a/c.

Co-Opting Councillor
It was agreed to Co-opt Miss K Anderton onto the Council. Proposed by Cllr. Chapman and Seconded by Cllr. S Smith. Agreed by all and Miss Anderton was then welcomed by Councillors.

Planning Application PA23/043306
Solar Farm, Land North of Canworthy House, Canworthy Water, Launceston. The Appeal was allowed. The application for an award of costs was refused.

Planning Application
PA25/05678 – Application for permission in principle for the construction of between one and four dwellings (minimum 1 maximum 4) Land East of Drumeagles, Jacobstow, Bude.
Councillors object to this Application as there is poor access and poor visibility on this very narrow road. It is a single track road, unlit, and will be a danger to the Owner(s) of the property(s) and to passing traffic.
Also there are three buses twice a day to the local school plus a service bus and many cars plus cars twice a day to and from the local school. Also we don’t class this as infill. -
CRCC Rural Coastal Community Roadshow
A Community Roadshow will take place in Jacobstow Village Hall on 2nd October, 2025 between 11 00am & 2.00pm.

Clerk’s Salary - £631.85 being (Salary £550 Expenses £81.85.

Cornwall Council have approved this. -
Dogs on Beaches
Review of dogs on beaches agreed the same.
Local beaches Crackington Haven, Crooklets and Summerleaze
No dogs allowed between 10.00am and 6.00pm -
Vans parked at Eden Chapel
Residents complaining about Vans parked at Eden Chapel making the vision difficult. Clerk had again written to Highways.

Road Closure
Treskinnick Cross to Waxhill on 17th September, 25 from 8.30am – 15.30pm.

Fuel Poverty
Correspondence received regarding Fuel poverty from a Service that is free of charge and open to all residents experiencing Issues with keeping warm at home.

Councillor matters:-
- Clerk to contact Housing Assoc. asking them to visit with a Parishioner qnd a Councillor to discuss the positioning of the seat at Goldfinch Close.
- Cllrs. Chapman and Smith looking into the cost of Planters for the village.
- It was proposed and seconded and unanimously agreed to do the Code of Conduct training all together in the Hall. Cllr. Chopak to send the link.
