Minutes of Ordinary Meeting held on 2nd August, 2022

  1. Cllr. Charmaine Smith chaired the monthly meeting with Cllrs. P Chapman, N Osborne, S Smith, I Franklyn, J Shepherd and A Vogel attending. Apologies received from County Cllr. Nicky Chopak.
  2. Declaration of Interest/Dispensations

    There were no declarations in respect of this Agenda.

  3. Minutes

    The minutes of the previous meeting had been Emailed to all Councillors and were agreed and signed.

  4. Balance at Bank

    The balance at the Bank is £11,034.59 in the Current A/C and £1317.03 in the Primrose A/C.

  5. Accounts to pay

    Christopher Lloyd – Footpaths £120.00
    Proposed we pay Cllr. Chapman Seconded Cllr. Osborne

  6. Email Addresses

    It was discussed and agreed to have individual Emails addresses.

  7. Planning Application PA22/067224

    The Cow Shed, Access to Higher Poulza, Jacobstow - Convert redundant barn to a dwelling house following the extant Class Q permitted development re Planning Application No PA21/04822 - Councillors would like clarification on regulations on Class Q in relation to planning.

  8. Planning Application PA22/05958

    Cottage farm, from Edgar Road to Eden Road, Jacobstow – Conversion of farm barn to residential dwelling. – Clerk to reply saying Councillors would like clarification in relation to this application in regard to Class Q granted in 2018 on this site. If it is a viable application we would request a land agents report and agricultural conditions.

  9. Cornwall Council

    Cornwall Council have approved Planning Application PA21/09708 – Wainhouse Corner Services – First Floor Extension

  10. Planning Application PA22/06693

    Works on Macrocarpa Tree - The Rectory, Jacobstow - Councillors support this.

  11. Mayor of Cornwall

    Correspondence received regarding who decides on the change of a Mayor. It should be the people’s decision. Councillors decided not to reply.

  12. Cornwall Council

    Correspondence received stating that there is support for residents struggling with the cost of living. Details of schemes available to be put in the next Jacobstow Journal.

  13. Councillor matters

    1. It was reported that a drain is blocked at the bottom of Certificate Hill by Ash Farm. Contact Oliver Jones again as it was said it would be cleared when the weather improved.
    2. Email received from the Scouts asking for a donation towards the work on their new Hut. Reply saying we are waiting to see if we get another donation from the Solar Farm.
    3. Auditor - It was decided to ask Mrs. Wendy Hodgson if she would be our Internal Auditor.

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.25pm
